Rehoming Rabbits

This page is for those who have adopted or participated in rehoming their previous rabbit, from my Rehoming Rabbit program!

If you have adopted, you can tell about how that rabbit is doing, and what you have decided to name him or her. Or, if you have rehomed a rabbit through me, you may comment on how satisfactory the 'procedure ' was. (How you liked the set up, and feedback on your former rabbit.)

The Rehoming Rabbit program is my side project, to help rabbits that people just can't take care of anymore, go to a good home. Most people who advertise free rabbits just can't take care of their bunnies any more, and sometimes they need to have them go to a new home fast, and just don't have the time to find them a good home! Some of these rabbits are very sweet, and sadly enough when people give away rabbits for free, many of them end up in homes that will use them as food. :(

I am not against using rabbits as food even though I personally would not. But the people giving the rabbits away, hoping for their rabbit to end up in a good home don't always know that they won't be going to pet homes, and usually the rabbits I take in have had a good life, and can be well trained as pets, so it would be wiser for them to be pets and let the meat breed rabbits be used for food.

I take in free rabbits, and try to find them the best home I can. (That will not use them as food!)

You should know that I will sell the rabbit, just so they don't become food, (if people pay for the rabbit, they are less likely to eat them, since they hold more value on them.) and I can earn a little for the up keep of this program. (Please realize I must feed the rabbit, and provide for it until I can find it the right home, and that does cost money.)

I have the time to find the perfect home for these wonderful creatures, when others do not, and I enjoy doing it! Getting to know so many unique rabbits is such a blessing. I enjoy the experience of getting to know so many different breeds! Each and every rabbit has his or her own special personality, and each rabbit I take on, is a new adventure!

I adopted the rabbit named Sage and renamed her Venus, to fit with my series of rabbits named after the planets and other heavenly bodies. She is really enjoying her new home and she is getting along well with her penmates. I keep them all seperate except for two young sisters, but Venus likes to sniff through the cages and say hi. Im feeding her well and shes growing bigger already, she will be a great mama some day. She bites a lot, but Im quite used to bites, so it doesnt bother me. Cant wait to see how she turns out in the long run.
