Netherland Dwarfs

Netherland Dwarfs seem to me to be a misunderstood breed. I've observed that most people think of the Netherland as a cute but mean breed that can be sassy and unfriendly. As I have observed at a few rabbitries including my own, those Dwarfs who are brought up with care and tamed down as kits become great pets--as friendly as any other breed but there is always an exception as with many different breeds. In my opinion a rabbit isn't born mean, but under improper care and/or inadequate attention can become unused to humans and not used to being handled which can make them seem distant. If all you do to interact with the rabbit is to take it out to trim its nails or clean it then it will associate those unpleasant things with you and may act undesirably when you interact with them.

That said, I believe any rabbit of any breed raised in the right conditions can be a great pet! :)
